A to Z

If you aren't into the traditional bride and groom wedding cake toppers, then these silver monogram letters make a nice alternative. Just one word of warning, check what your letters look like together as a friend of mine realised her's would be S & M - not quite appropriate for the wedding day! Although these are especially made for putting onto cakes, you can buy letters like this in many places. Posh Graffiti have a great selection, you could lay the letters (or a word) on the cake table to create an individual display or you could even use single large letters or numbers to add to your tables as centrepieces or table numbering.

mix n match

I saw this and really liked the idea.  I think it works really well with the colour red, but you could be more adventurous as you can get shoes dyed most colours these days you could closely match the colour to your bouquet.  If you fancy adding a hit of colour to your outfit without being too brave, then I think this is a fun and sexy way to do so, and sooo great for photos.

mmm doughnuts

Who isn't a fan of Krispy Kreme doughnuts? Along with Homer, I know I'm certainly partial to them, and the idea of having this as a wedding cake has left me drooling (sorry!). As long as they are stacked neatly, and on a decorative cake stand, you can have a great display. You can ice them in colours to match your theme, add ribbons or flowers and they are easy for guests to tuck into as well! I also love this idea for wedding favours, simple, cheap and bound to get taken home!

twinkle twinkle

Have you thought about having a dance floor where your guests can dance the night away? If so, take a look at these.  You can be a star with a first dance to remember as you glide across, the pretty twinkle lights beneath you will sparkle away.  If this one's not for you, they also do a much livelier version - the illuminated dance floor - great if you are having an 70's or 80's disco as part of the evening's theme.

top that

Hands up who has fond memories of decorating cupcakes and going a bit overboard on the hundreds and thousands? Well, if like me you are one of those people then you'll love this idea. Fairly cheap and cheerful, but so much fun!  A decorate your own cake station. Place small dishes full of tasty and colourful cake decorations, such as sprinkles, smarties, jelly tots, smashed up dime bar (mmmm, the list could go on) and place already iced cupcakes on a cake stand and you're guests are guaranteed to enjoy getting creative with this.

swimming centres

Now I'm not a huge fish fan (actually I do have a mild phobia) however, I can appreciate that aquariums can look stunning and mesmirising. You can create your own mini-aquarium centrepieces by using classic glass fish bowls, and placing some fish in them, with just a few subtle plants or flowers.  It would certainly be a talking point, just make sure you can house the fish afterwards and perhaps not so suitable at a children's table though!

very berry

Aren't these enough to make your mouth water? Berry Scrumptious offer juicy strawberry's covered in chocolate for a variety of purposes.  Whether you are having a champagne reception and want canapes, or want a Berry Tower instead of a cake these guys do it all.  They even have cute bride and groom berries, which would even make a nice wedding favour which comes in a little white box with an alice in wonderland style 'eat me' label. So cute.
